Hydraulic Accumulator Wheel Brake

The HAWB accumulator is a hydro-pneumatic devices, piston separator type designed to contain nitrogen gas physically separated from the stored hydraulic fluid. The fluid side is connected to the HPS while the nitrogen gas is stored, at pre-charged condition, in the HAWB gas vessel side.
The HAWB herein defined have been designed to be part of the Hydraulic Power System (HPS). The HAWB stores sufficient energy to guard against short duration supply interrupts and to reduce the pressure ripple generated by the Engine Driven Pump (EDP).
The HAWB has been designed to be used in a type II, 4000 psi hydraulic system.
